Day 1: Arrival in Venice

Landing in Venice airport – As with all of our Venice tours, you’ll be warmly welcomed with a smile and a wave by both your private driver and Alma Italia tour host. Your private driver will escort you to the edge of the famous Grand Canal where you will board a private boat to your hotel. This will be a truly stylish arrival!

There is so much to see and do that tours of Venice and the Veneto can be complicated but with our  private Venice tours, you can relax knowing your Alma Italia host will take care of every little detail for you during your tailored Venice tour, ensuring you experience the very best of the soul of this magnificent part of Italy. The day of your arrival then is meant to be for you to recharge after your long flight. What better way to do that and start your Venice tour in style than by enjoying a cool glass of Veneto`s finest Prosecco and some Italian appetizers while gazing over the quiet canals of Venice from the rooftop bar of your boutique hotel. We will end the day with a private Gondola ride to transport you through the peaceful canals to an early dinner at a family run traditional local restaurant. Here you’ll get a first taste of the delicious venetian regional cuisine before having a well deserved rest at your canal side hotel.

Day 2 Exploring Venice

We like to start the first full day of our Venice tours  with a relaxing stroll in the city center, having fun getting lost in the magical alleys and canals of the city. We’ll stop to admire some of the city’s most divine churches and magnificent architectural monuments while your tour host will entertain you and bring the history of the city to life recounting the fascinating stories of your surroundings. If you think the 2020`s are a crazy time to be alive you will be amazed at what the venetians and their rulers got up to over the years! 

In the afternoon meet your guide once again on the hotel’s dock for a deeper exploration of Venice by private boat through her canals. The charming details of the city open up to you as you float serenely by, filled with a sense of wonder marvelling at magnificent churches and palaces that line the Grand canal and the no less charming crumbling Venetian houses on the surprisingly peaceful maze of canals that run through all of Venice..

 We will enjoy a delicious dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants, a real Venetian treasure . Chef Giusesppe never fails to delight us!

Day 3 Go deeper into Venice

Since food is at the heart of Italian life, this morning your guide will take you on a mini Venice food tour, visiting the local fresh food markets to enjoy some Venitian treats followed by coffee in one of Venice’s most magical squares.
After you have eaten your fill, will head across the lagoon by boat to explore Burano island. You will fall in love with the explosion of colors of the buildings and the many artisanal shops specialized in Pizzo (lace) and glass.  

For lunch we will head to the Lido of Venice. That’s right. Did you know as well as canals, Venice has it’s own sandy beach lined with colorful and stylish private beach clubs? We will enjoy a fresh seafood lunch at one of our favorite beach restaurants, and after, take some time to enjoy the beach, soaking up the sun and ‘resting’ our eyes!

Day 4 Prosecco Tasting

On this day we will begin our exploration of the spectacular region surrounding Venice, the Veneto, embarking on a Venice wine tour.  Your private driver will begin your Venice wine tour by leading you on ‘the road of wine’ (strada del vino), winding through picturesque vineyards positioned below the mighty Dolomite mountains where you will reach Valdobbiadene. This is the heart of the Venice wine tour region where the famous sparkling Proseco is produced and is arguably home to some of the most stunning vineyards in all of Italy if not the world. The unspoiled hilly landscape makes it the perfect terroir for Italy’s answer to Champagne. While enjoying the breathtaking views we will stop for a wine tasting and a gourmet lunch at a family run vineyard before heading to our second home of the tour, a stylish Italian boutique country hotel.  There’ll be time for settling in and some relaxing by the pool before dinner, and, naturally,  more local wine will be served for you. This will be a Venice wine tour to remember even if all the fabulous wine makes that challenging!

Day 5 Relaxing in Valdobbiadene

On day 5 we will take it slow, enjoy a relaxing breakfast in the tranquility of the countryside before your tour host will lead you on a walk through the marvelous vineyards of this region. Take the time to soak up the atmosphere in the heart of the Italian countryside and breath in the sweet fresh air to give life back to your lungs while all your senses tingle with pleasure.  In the afternoon, for those keen to get their hands dirty,  a local chef will give you an Italian cooking lesson, sharing some of his family secret recipes passed down from Nonna and Mama. Dinner will be the fruit of your labour!

Day 6 Verona tour

After breakfast your private driver will pick you up and drive you to the charming historical city of Verona, the home of Romeo and Juliette. Verona tours are often a surprising highlight for our guests. On Alma Italia exclusive Verona tours, you will discover that this riverside town settled at the foot of the Alps is home to some of the most beautiful architecture, art, history and cuisine in the area, while being less travelled than its larger counterparts. 

Your guide will lead you on a walk through this most beautiful and romantic of Italian cities. As the season allows us, we will end the day with an open air concert in the still intact roman amphitheatre in the centre of the city. This is without a doubt the holy grail of concert venues, the most exquisite open air venue in which to experience live music. Otherwise an amazing dinner in town will not disappoint!

Day 7  Lake Garda Boat day

Almost last but certainly not least, our Venice tours  can  take you to stunning Lake Garda, the crown of Italy’s lake district to enjoy long sunny days at exclusive lakeside beach clubs and cool dips in the freshwater lake.  You’ll see why celebrities purchase villas and locals vacation here in the lovely towns dotting the shorelines while exploring the lake by boat.  

We will discover the stunning hidden corners of Lake Garda in the privacy of an exclusive boat charter . Take a seat and admire the beauty of the Italian Alps that spill down into the water while navigating the lake. The beauty of this region cannot be overstated. 

The boat will dock at the Fortress city of Sirmione, built right on to the lake, perfect also for some shopping! If shopping doesn’t appeal, we can catch some rays and maybe a nap at a private beach club on the shore of the lake.

Day 8 Lake Garda villages

If you have longer, we’d sincerely advise you to stay a few more nights on the lake and enjoy the slower pace of lakeside life as well as discover some incredible historical villages amidst the natural beauty of one of the most impressive destinations in Italy. Did you know for example, that Salo, a pretty lakeside town halfway up lake Garda was for a short period home to Mussolini’s wartime residence and puppet government? After a morning stroll around Salo,  we’ll take a bike ride around the lake shore on a special new path that clings to the cliffs above the water below and visit some more of her most charming villages. You’ll dine lakeside watching the sun go down over the mountains after another hard day having fun!

Day 9 Treviso

We will finish our tour by visiting the town of Treviso. This city, unknown to mass tourism is also known as the ‘Little Venice’ and is one of the regions best kept local secrets. You will be surprised by the beauty of this town and enjoy its canals without being bothered by the inevitable crowd that invades the more well known destinations. You will then dine together for the last time, in an extra special open air trattoria raising a glass to the fantastic time we all had on this unforgettable journey. If you feel refreshed and reconnected with your family and friends we will be happy too!

Day 10 Departure from Venice Airport

Tears at Departure from Venice Airport. Enjoy your final Italian breakfast before heading to the airport by private transfer. We will have achieved our goal if you are feeling relaxed and inspired in equal measure, having created memories of a lifetime with your friends or family. It’s time for us to say goodbye…or maybe just `Ciao for now`!  Don’t worry, we will be here waiting for you next year to come and sample more of our Italy tours!
