Day 1 Arrival at Naples

Landing in Naples. As with all our Amalfi coast tours, you’ll be warmly welcomed with a smile and a wave by both your private driver and Alma Italia tour host. There is so much to see and do that Amalfi coast trips can be complicated but with our Amalfi coast guided tours, you can relax knowing your Alma Italia host will take care of every little detail for you during your private Amalfi coast tour, ensuring you experience the very best of the soul of this stunning region.

The Alma Italia philosophy is that our tours of the Amalfi coast should be about rest, fun and adventure, to inspire and restore you. The day of your arrival then is designed for you to recharge after your long flight. Your private driver will take you straight to your stylish boutique hotel in the heart of Naples where you can relax and get refreshed. When you are ready, we will take you on a stroll through the centre of Naples to soak up the vibrant atmosphere and then to dinner at one of our favourite local restaurants in all of Naples. That’s quite a statement considering we are food fanatics here at Alma Italia but the chef Alberto never lets us or his regular Napoletano clientele down!

Day 2 Naples Adventure

Naples, is a raucous city that overflows with passion, sex appeal, just a hint of danger combined with tradition and gastronomy. This makes it a very exciting place to visit and perhaps at Travel Deeply, our favorite city in Italy (though dont tell our Roman friends!)  Its evocative, historical old centre is a World Heritage-listed area. In the morning, after a delicious breakfast of fresh coffee and Italian treats, your host will take you on a stroll around the famous spanish quarter and down to the waterfront, for your first glimpse of the sparking Mediterranean sea. 

Naples is the birthplace of the pizza, and for lunch your Alma Italia guide will take you to our very favorite pizzeria to taste what’s truly in our opinion (and trust us we’ve done years of research!) the best pizza that Italy has to offer. After, your guide will take you underground to see ancient Napoli Sotterranea, the famous underground city, a fascinating experience. Finish the day, if it appeals,  with some window shopping, browsing the cool boutiques of this fashion conscious city, or simply relaxing at a waterfront bar, watching Napolitan life go by.

Day 3 Pompeii on the way to Sorrento

Leaving Naples, your private van glides through the scenic countryside and along the sparkling coastline toward Pompeii, the ancient city preserved by time and ash. Upon arrival, your private guide leads you through the sprawling ruins, bringing each street, temple, and villa to life with stories of daily Roman life, ambition, and tragedy. The frescoes, mosaics, and volcanic casts of Pompeii’s inhabitants reveal a vivid snapshot of the past, and your guide ensures every hidden detail and historical nuance is uncovered as you wander at your own pace.

After the immersive visit, the journey continues along the rolling hills toward Sorrento, stopping for a private lunch at Bosco de’ Medici. Nestled among vineyards and olive groves, the restaurant offers a selection of seasonal dishes—fresh pasta, locally sourced meats or seafood, and vibrant vegetables—paired with carefully chosen wines. Sitting amidst the rustic charm of the surroundings, the flavors, aromas, and gentle countryside views create a moment of relaxed indulgence, a perfect interlude between history and the present.

Following lunch, your van carries you the final stretch to Sorrento, with cliffs, lemon groves, and the sparkling sea unfolding along the road. The combination of a personalized tour, historical exploration, and leisurely countryside lunch allows you to experience the richness of Pompeii and the charm of the region in a seamless, unhurried day.

Day 4 Pizza making class

Perched on the hills above Sorrento, with sweeping views of the Gulf of Naples, the villa Chez Barone offers the perfect setting for a pizza-making class. The terrace and kitchen are bathed in soft light, the sparkling sea below and the pastel rooftops of Sorrento stretching out before you, creating an atmosphere of relaxed elegance and inspiration.

Inside the warm, welcoming kitchen, baskets of fresh ingredients—ripe tomatoes, fragrant basil, creamy mozzarella, and soft, pliable dough—invite you to begin. Under the guidance of an expert chef, you learn to stretch and shape the dough, layer vibrant tomato sauce, sprinkle cheese, and add toppings with care. The process is tactile and engaging, the oven glowing as the pizzas bake, filling the villa with the irresistible aroma of fresh bread, herbs, and melted cheese.

When the pizzas are ready, you can enjoy them on the terrace, the flavors of the freshly baked creations complemented by the panoramic views of Sorrento and the shimmering Gulf of Naples. Day 5 Amalfi coast road tour
The morning light casts a golden glow over Sorrento as your private vehicle winds out of town and onto the Amalfi Coast road, a breathtaking ribbon of cliffs, curves, and sea views. The air carries the scent of salt and citrus, and each turn reveals another postcard-perfect scene: pastel villages clinging to cliffs, the sparkling Mediterranean below, and terraces of lemon groves stacked on the hillsides.

Your first stop is Positano, where narrow streets cascade down toward the sea, lined with boutiques, cafés, and vibrant bougainvillea. Strolling at leisure, you can pause to admire the beach from above, sip an espresso in a quiet piazza, or simply take in the view as the town glimmers in the morning sun.

The journey continues to Amalfi, where history and charm meet on the bustling waterfront. The Duomo di Amalfi rises above the town, its striking façade a contrast to the pastel buildings and lively harbor. You can wander the small streets, browse artisan shops, or enjoy a moment of calm by the water, watching boats drift in and out of the harbor.

For those who wish, an optional detour leads uphill to Ravello, a serene hilltop town known for its gardens and sweeping vistas. Terraces overlook the coastline, offering panoramic views that seem to stretch endlessly toward the horizon. A stroll through Villa Rufolo or Villa Cimbrone rewards you with fragrant gardens, historic architecture, and a sense of quiet elegance high above the bustling towns below.

Day 6 Path of the Gods

The Path of the Gods (Sentiero degli Dei) is one of the most breathtaking hikes along the Amalfi Coast, offering an unforgettable journey through dramatic cliffs, terraced vineyards, and panoramic views of the sparkling Mediterranean. The trail winds along the ridge high
above the coastline, connecting the hilltop town of Agerola to Nocelle, a small village above Positano, and from there, it can continue down toward the picturesque town itself.

From the very first steps, the scenery is awe-inspiring. The trail hugs steep cliffs, the deep blue sea stretching endlessly below, dotted with islands and fishing boats. Terraced gardens and lemon groves cling to the hillsides, their greenery contrasting sharply with the rugged rock and the glimmering water. Each curve of the path unveils a new vista: pastel-colored villages perched on cliffs, narrow winding roads, and the dramatic folds of the coastline carved by centuries of wind and sea.

The hike is a perfect blend of natural beauty and serenity. The path is well-trodden but still feels intimate, with the scents of wild herbs, rosemary, and thyme carried on the breeze. The gentle ups and downs provide a sense of adventure without being overly strenuous, and there are plenty of spots to pause, breathe, and take in the sweeping views.

As you approach Nocelle, the panorama shifts, revealing Positano cascading down the cliffs to the sea, a riot of colors that seems almost painted. The light changes with the time of day, turning the Amalfi coast from sparkling blue to golden and warm, making the trail feel magical at every step.

Completing the hike, whether descending toward Positano or returning toward Agerola, leaves you with a sense of having walked through one of Italy’s most spectacular landscapes—a combination of rugged cliffs, fragrant nature, and breathtaking coastal vistas that linger long after the hike ends.

Day 7 Capri By Private Boat

Your private Gozzo boat rocks gently in Sorrento’s marina as you set off along the sparkling turquoise waters of the coast. Cliffs rise dramatically on either side, dotted with lemon groves and pastel villages, while fresh fruit and chilled drinks on board promise a leisurely start to the journey. The soft rhythm of the boat cutting through the water creates an effortless, meditative pace, allowing you to soak in the sights and scents of the Amalfi coast.

As you approach Capri, the option to visit the Blue Grotto presents itself. Day 8 Campanian cheese experience

Nestled in the lush countryside of Campania, the Storace farm offers an intimate glimpse into the world of authentic buffalo mozzarella production. Upon arrival, the warm, rustic surroundings immediately set the tone: fragrant pastures, gentle rolling hills, and the soft lowing of water buffalo create a sense of calm and connection to the land.

The experience begins with a hands-on mozzarella class, where a skilled cheesemaker guides you through the art of crafting the prized buffalo cheese. You feel the soft, warm curds between your hands, learning how to stretch, fold, and shape them into smooth, glistening mozzarella balls. The process is tactile, aromatic, and utterly immersive, with the subtle scents of fresh milk, whey, and herbs filling the air. Stories of tradition and technique bring the craft to life, connecting each movement to centuries of local heritage.

Once the mozzarella is ready, a private lunch follows on the farm, featuring the fresh cheese you just helped create. Day 9 Beach day

Imagine waking up in Sorrento to a gentle breeze carrying the scent of the sea. A private transfer quietly whisks you along the Amalfi coast roads, past lemon groves and cliffside villas, straight to one of your favorite beach clubs. No stress, no crowds—just ease and anticipation.

At the club, your sunbeds and umbrella are already waiting!

The gentle waves lap rhythmically, while the sun warms the sand beneath your feet. You spend the day at your own pace—reading, napping, or dipping into the sea whenever the mood strikes.

Refreshing drinks and fresh fruit are available at the beach club bar at anytime.

Day 10 Departure from Naples

It’s finally time to wave a tearful goodbye at Naples airport. After the last delicious breakfast of your Amalfi coast trip your driver will take you safely to the airport.
